What is ISO 22000?

         ISO 22000 is a international standard for food safety. It’s specifies the requirement for food safety management system that involves interactive communication, system management, prerequisite program and HACCP principles.


         The standard defines food safety as the concept that foodstuffs should not be harmful to the consumer and recognizes that food safety hazards can be introduced at any stage of the food chain. Recognizing that food safety problems can originate at any point in the supply chain, the standard requires that the organization in the food chain take into account the safety hazards of the final food product of the chain to the consumer and, if necessary, take measures to control those hazards.
